We will be waiting to meet you at the airport or your hotel in Marrakech, Then we will begin our trip towards the Dades Valley. On the way, we will be driving along the beautiful Tizi n’Tichka pass, at an elevation of 2 260 metres. Before we will stop along the way for many spectacular panoramic views and photo opportunities in the High Atlas Mountains. After we will enjoy lunch at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, also well known as the filming location of many movies and television series, including Lawrence of Arabia and, more recently, Game of Thrones.
Throughout the day we will be making short stops at historical sites like the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate, And we will then pass by the Valley of the Roses – well known for its annual Festival of Roses in May. Before we will drive through the Berber villages of El Kelaa des M’Gouna and Boumalne du Dades, where you will spend the night.
Today, After a refreshing breakfast, we will begin our trip to Merzouga. This is a region famous for having the highest sand dunes in North Africa. The enchanting area called Erg Chebbi is around 28km long and 5km wide, And dunes reach heights of up to 150 metres. Although the journey will be long, But will be amazed by the many beautiful oases along the way.
We will enjoy lunch in the small desert-border town of Rissani – approximately 40km from Erg Chebbi. Moving on, you will passe by the palm oasis of the Ziz Valley, Before arriving in Merzouga. Enjoy cooling off with a refreshing swim and spend the evening enjoying a traditional dinner, to the sounds of the local Berber music.
After breakfast, take a stroll through the Souk in Merzouga, And enjoy the sights and smells of the local foods and textiles. Before we will travel to Rissani where you will enjoy a lunch of what is known as Berber pizza. After your meal and a glass of freshly-made mint tea, Then you will find your camel waiting to take you off into the desert. But your luggage will be stored in a safe room at the hotel.
Camel ride will last around 90 minutes, And you will stop mid-way to appreciate the breathtaking views the Sahara Desert has to offer at sunset. Before reaching your Berber camp in Erg Chebbi is equipped with beds and covers, flushing toilets, showers, And a restaurant. After you will be treated to night-time entertainment of traditional Berber drumming around the campfire. Moreover, you will enjoy a traditional Berber feast for dinner, Before settling down in your tent for the night.
Set your alarm for an early wake-up call – you won’t want to miss the sunrise over the Sahara Desert and the awesome photo opportunity it presents. You will then return to the hotel in Merzouga, where you will collect your luggage, freshen up, and start the day off with a tasty breakfast. We will then depart to our destination of Ouarzazate, via the small towns of Alnif, Tazzarine, N’kob and the Draa Valley. You will spend the night in Ouarzazate, in a visitor house.
After breakfast, we will start our journey back to Marrakech, going through the impressive High Atlas Mountains. You will then experience the stunning views presented along the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Today marks the end of your 5 days tour.
