After breakfast, you will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys, and small streets. Our visit starts by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarter, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, during the 16th century. We will ensure that you visit all sites with cultural, and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region, the Tanneries, the Attarine museum, and Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you will visit a wonderful panoramic view of the whole Medina of Fes.
Today we drive south towards the Sahara desert, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains, and enjoy breathing the pure air that comes from the cedar forests, also stop for a time with Barbary apes, taking pictures of splendid panoramic views. Driving through Ziz valley, and palm groves of Tafilalet huge oasis, before we get to Merzouga Overnight in a riad.
Today we get to learn more about the life of the Nomads, in our off-road excursion to the breathtaking Erg Chebbi, attend an African folkloric music/dance performance in Khamlia village. Then walk in a desert oasis, where we learn about the irrigation systems of the area. Late afternoon, you will ride the camels into the dunes, overnight in your tent.
After breakfast, your departure from the desert, via the ancient desert town of Rissani. Heading on to the dramatic Toudra Gorges, viaTinjdad, Tinghir Town, a walk-in Toudra Gorge along the river, but before you pause to relish the panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking to the valley. Lunch in a restaurant under 300 M higher red cliff of the gorge, where many rock-climbers come to enjoy their preferred adventure. Overnight in Dades Valley.
Today, you head on to Marrakech. On the way, we will drive through the roses Valley, Skoura oases and Ouarzazate. Then. a stop to visit the photogenic Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a rest point for caravans in the past, and scene for many international movies nowadays. Lunch in the restaurant overlooking to the Kasbah, before continuing to Marrakech. Penetrating the High Atlas Mountains at an elevation of 7269 feet, enjoying one of the most scenic drives in Morocco.
